Cosmonauts Avenue is an online literary journal run by badass writers dedicated to elevating and amplifying underrepresented voices. For three years, we have published monthly issues featuring poetry, fiction, essays, interviews, and more, from writers around the world, in English and in translation. We have curated a space defined by resistance and care.
Art is life, but it is also work. Deeply necessary and life-saving work. We at Cosmonauts Avenue believe that now, more than ever, art needs to be fought for, protected, and supported. Our contests pay for winners, judges, website and Submittable fees, but to honor the incredible and brave voices we publish, we want to compensate our contributors for all the hard work they do — the lives they share with us. Cosmonauts Avenue is a labor of love and passion staffed by volunteer editors, all of whom work multiple jobs and receive no income from working on this journal. We believe writing can and should be a sustainable endeavor but we need your help to put money behind those beliefs. We want to ensure that our contributors are paid for their hard work and the differences they actively make to our tumultuous and terrifying world — for the light they shine. So we turn to you for help to achieve this goal. No matter how small a donation, it makes a huge impact on our ability to pay contributors.
We are very grateful to our dedicated readers, and we hope you’ll be able to support us in our endeavour to pay for the work we publish. And so grateful to those who have already donated. If you can’t donate, we understand and would love it if you shared this on your social media and help us spread the campaign to ensure we can reach this goal!
